On behalf of an internal client, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Ripening In-Charge to oversee the ripening and sorting of avocados, ensuring optimal quality for oil production. This role involves managing ripening chambers, monitoring fruit conditions, supervising forklift operators and casual staff, and coordinating with production to meet quality and production targets.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Quality Assurance & Compliance Supervisor, the Ripening In-Charge will supervise the ripening and sorting process, ensure quality control, maintain inventory accuracy, and manage staff in the ripening chambers. The role is critical in maintaining high standards of fruit quality, operational efficiency, and health and safety compliance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise daily ripening and sorting operations to achieve optimal ripeness and quality.
- Monitor temperature, humidity, and ethylene levels in ripening chambers.
- Inspect incoming fruits and report quality to the procurement team.
- Track and report inventory levels; coordinate supply to ensure steady production.
- Schedule and prioritize sorting batches; ensure timely labor planning by 1600H daily.
- Supervise forklift operations, ensuring safe handling and logical arrangement of bins by GRN sequencing.
- Manage and train ripening casuals on procedures, safety protocols, and hygiene standards.
- Maintain accurate records of ripening times, conditions, and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Advise management on process improvements and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture, or related field. Certificate or Diploma in Agriculture is an added advantage.
- Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience in avocado production or agricultural operations, preferably in fruit ripening.

- Physical ability to work in varying temperatures and lift up to 50 kg.
