On behalf of an internal client, we are seeking to recruit a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Medical Oncologist to provide specialist oncology care within an integrated, multidisciplinary, and patient-centred clinical model.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Medical Director, the Consultant Medical Oncologist will be responsible for providing high-quality oncology consultations, diagnosing and managing cancer cases, leading multidisciplinary team discussions, and overseeing systemic anti-cancer therapies within a private executive oncology clinic environment.
The role requires a visionary and flexible specialist with strong clinical competence, leadership ability, patient-centred communication skills, and commitment to evidence-based oncology care.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
a) Specialist Clinical Care & Treatment Delivery
Provide expert outpatient and inpatient medical oncology consultations for cancer cases, including diagnosis, staging, and development of management plans for solid tumours and hematologic malignancies.
b) Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy
Prescribe, supervise, and safely deliver chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted molecular therapy, and hormonal therapy in line with recognized local and international oncology guidelines.
c) Multidisciplinary Care Leadership
Champion and participate in MDTs and tumour board reviews to ensure consensus-driven patient care and coordinated oncology treatment planning.
d) Palliative & Supportive Care
Provide palliative oncology input, pain management protocols, and holistic supportive care planning to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
e) Clinical Collaboration & Pathway Integration
Work closely with surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, clinical pharmacists, oncology nurses, and care coordinators to support effective patient pathways and referral networks.
f) Chemotherapy Safety & Clinical Governance
Formulate, review, and enforce chemotherapy safety protocols, dose-verification systems, and treatment planning processes to ensure safe and error-free execution.
g) Quality, Risk Management & Documentation
Maintain accurate and legally compliant EMR records and oncology case files. Participate in clinical audits, peer reviews, morbidity and mortality reviews, and patient safety initiatives.
h) Academic & Research Contribution
Lead and participate in clinical research, epidemiological data tracking, grant applications, case discussions, academic tumour boards, scientific publications, and clinical outcome data collection.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by KMPDC.
- Master of Medicine (MMed) in Internal Medicine plus formal Fellowship in Medical Oncology or equivalent specialist qualification.
- Fully registered and licensed as a Specialist Medical Practitioner by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ progressive post-specialist experience practicing as a Medical Oncologist within a busy tertiary hospital or dedicated private diagnostic oncology system.

- Ability to manage systemic anti-cancer treatments within outpatient infusion and day-care clinic models.
- Familiarity with oncology protocols, pre-authorization pathways, SHA oncology packages, and private corporate insurance processes.
- High level of professionalism, empathy, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
- Fluency in written and spoken medical English and Swahili.
