On behalf of Mini Group, we are seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Accountant to manage day-to-day financial transactions, ensure accurate record-keeping, and support financial reporting across the company. The role involves handling accounts payable, receivable, journal entries, and general ledger postings, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Accountant will be responsible for processing all financial transactions, ensuring timely reconciliations, supporting tax filings, assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes, and maintaining accurate financial records within the ERP system.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
a) Transaction Processing & Ledger Management
- Process accounting transactions including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), journal entries, and general ledger entries.
- Ensure transactions are supported with valid documentation and approvals before posting.
- Maintain up-to-date records in the ERP system and process supplier invoices and payments on time.
b) Reconciliations & Financial Close Support
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all company accounts.
- Reconcile supplier, customer, and intercompany accounts monthly, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes in coordination with the Senior Accountant.
c) Tax & Compliance Support
- Assist in preparation of VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory filings.
- Ensure timely calculation and remittance of statutory deductions and maintain organized records for audit and compliance purposes.
d) Reporting & Operational Support
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements and assist with ad-hoc reports.
- Generate monthly reconciliation reports, and maintain transaction and ledger reports for financial accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in a trading, retail, or wholesale environment
- Strong experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Navision, Sage, Oracle, etc.)
- Proficiency in advanced MS Excel and financial reporting tools
- Good knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance requirements
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
- High accuracy in transaction processing, reconciliations, and ERP data entry
- Strong understanding of tax and statutory compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial tools
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively
